폴 고빈드 박사는 NSW주 변호사로서 환경 계획법(Environmental Planning Law) 관련 박사 학위 를 취득하였으며, 시드니대학교에서 법학 석사/연구 석사(LLM/MPhil), 맥쿼리대학교 법학 및 인문학 학사(BA/LLB)를 취득했습니다. 고빈드 박사는 특히 생물다양성 손실 및 보호와 관련된 토지 이용 계획법, 기후법 및 지속 가능한 개발 분야에서 국내뿐만 아니라 국제적으로 풍부한 강의 및 연구 경험을 보유하고 있으며, 최근에는 환경 계획법뿐만 아니라 토지 개발이 호주 원주민과 자연에 미치는 영향, NSW주의 생물다양성 상쇄 조치와 관련된 소송, 멸종 위기 대응 관련 환경 계획법상 의사결정의 역할, 그리고 공공 및 민간 부문간 거래에서 자연 및 생물 다양성 존중 등에 대한 연구 및 발표를 활발하게 진행해오고 있습니다. 또한 고빈드 박사는 환경 관련 호주 법과 규제 준수를 지속적으로 다루는 호주의 지방정부(예, Hornsby Shire Council, Blue Mountains City Council 등), 주정부 및 국제 연구기관 등을 대상으로 풍부하고 다양한 환경 관련 자문 경험을 보유하고 있습니다. 고빈드 박사는 환경 계획 및 환경법 관련 주요 이슈에 관하여 학계 및 실무 전문가들을 대상으로 학술대회와 행사를 지속적으로 주최해 왔으며, 주정부 및 연방정부를 대상으로 한 관련 의견서 작성에도 기여해오고 있습니다.

Paul is a distinguished environmental and planning law expert with a doctorate from Macquarie University and extensive academic and practical experience. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Centre for Environmental Law at Macquarie University and holds several prestigious international appointments including Regional Director for the Pacific Region of the Global Network for Human Rights and the Environment. Paul's expertise spans land use planning law, biodiversity protection, climate law and environmental compliance. He has provided expert consultancy to local councils, state agencies and international bodies, and has published extensively on cutting-edge environmental law issues including biodiversity offsetting and climate adaptation. "Paul's appointment significantly strengthens our environmental and planning law capabilities.
