Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan until the age of 18, Yukio is a law graduate from the University of New South Wales. In 1979, he became the first Japanese Lawyer admitted to practice in Australia. He started practising law at Baker & McKenzie and subsequently moved to Freehill Hollingdale & Page (now Herbert Smith Freehills) working in the commercial team. In 1984, he became a partner at Freehill Hollingdale & Page providing advice in commercial and corporate area of laws for many Japanese companies. In 1996, he established his own firm, Yukio Hayashi & Associates (now H & H Lawyers).

Yukio’s clients include well known public and private companies, government agencies, many successful small to medium businesses and individuals in Australia and Japan.

Originally from Seoul, Ken first came to Australia in 1994. He graduated from Bond University on a scholarship and was admitted as a lawyer in NSW in 2004. Ken has more than 10 years of experience in advising and acting for clients who are private and public companies, government agencies as well as small to medium businesses and individuals.

Ken is an active member of the Korean and Australian community in Sydney. He previously served as the president of the Korean Australian Lawyers Association (“KALA”) and the Korean Australian Young (“KAY”) Leaders. Currently, Ken is the principal solicitor of the Korean Community Legal Services, an advisory board member of Multicultural NSW, and a council member of the Medical Council of NSW.

John graduated from the University of Auckland and was admitted as a solicitor in New Zealand in 2007. He commenced practising as a solicitor in NSW when he arrived in Australia in 2008 and holds a Master of Laws degree from the Australian National University.

John began his legal career as a Police Prosecutor conducting prosecutions in various Local Courts in NSW and the Children’s Court in Parramatta. Through daily court appearances, conducting lists, sentence hearings, defended hearings and bail hearings, John has developed a confident and persuasive style of advocacy. In 2014, John became a State Prosecutor for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW) and conducted prosecutions in serious criminal matters including murder, armed robbery, illegal drugs and sexual assault. Using his diverse experience in both summary and indictable matters, John is now a strong defence advocate, providing clients with honest and expert legal advice, obtaining acquittals for clients wrongly charged by the police or minimum sentences for clients through excellent plea mitigation.

Noel has over a decade of intellectual property experience in Australia and internationally, having assisted a broad range of clients ranging from start-up businesses to large multinational corporations.

He was awarded a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Seoul, Master of Law (LLM) from Yonsei University and Master of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Sydney, Technology. He is admitted as a lawyer to the High Court of Australia and is a registered Trade Mark Attorney.

Noel worked at one of the leading law firms and a major handset maker as a patent engineer and in-house legal advisor in Korea where he gained comprehensive experience in patent litigation, IP licensing and acquisition, as well as managing IP portfolios which extended into the USA, Japan and China.

In 2008, Noel moved to Sydney and worked at IP specialty firms where he advised local and international clients on all aspects of intellectual property, domain name disputes and e-Commerce until he joined H & H Lawyers as a Special Counsel.

Noel’s extensive experience both in-house and in law firms, as well as his broad network of contacts in Korea is of great value to clients seeking international IP protection.

Born in Hong Kong, Tin-Lok spent his childhood years in Japan before coming to Australia in 1990. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2008 and was admitted as a lawyer in 2009.

Tin-Lok has over 8 years’ experience working in the tax practices of Big 4 professional services firms. Prior to joining H & H Lawyers, he was an Account Director in Deloitte Tax Services and assisted clients on the implications of various complex and high-profile transactions involving multi-nationals and governments (including a number of Japanese clients).

She also has experience working in the real estate industry in leasing and property management. She has a keen interest in property, family and succession laws. Tina was born in Seoul, Korea and migrated to Australia in 2005. She first joined our firm as a law clerk in 2013 whilst undertaking her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees at the University of Sydney. She was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2015.

After completing her law degree, Tina undertook internship programs in the Corporate M&A Team at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC in Korea as well as in the Enterprise Risk Services Team at Deloitte Korea participating in an international environmental sustainability project.

Before re-joining H & H as a lawyer, Tina worked in several law firms specialising in property and personal injury law.

Andrew was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. He received a First Class Honours degree in Psychology and an Honours degree in Law at Macquarie University.

Andrew was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in July 2017. Prior to joining our firm, Andrew began accumulating his legal experience as a paralegal in the Criminal Division of Legal Aid and as a legal researcher for a private organisation. Andrew completed his practical legal training at our firm and currently works in the areas of criminal law, civil litigation, and international law.

Andrew is currently the Assistant Treasurer and Administrator of the Australian Dispute Resolution Association and a Committee Member of the Australian Psychological Society, Dispute Resolution Interest Group.

Aside from the law, Andrew has a background in psychology where he worked with vulnerable populations, such as offenders and children with behavioural issues. Andrew is therefore able to handle your legal matters with empathy and sensitivity.

Dai was born in Niigata, Japan. After graduating from his high school in Niigata, Dai came to Sydney to study commerce and business management.

Prior to joining the legal profession, Dai was working in the restaurant industry as a professional service person, restaurant manager, and sommelier. As a part of his restaurant management training, he had number of occasions to learn about employment and industry relations law, in which he has a keen interest. Subsequently, Dai decided to develop his knowledge of law, and obtained his law degree from University of New South Wales.

Dai first started working at our firm in 2013, and he currently works in the areas of employment law, consumer law, commercial lease and family law.

Dai is also a Certified Sommelier (the Court of Master Sommelier), and he can provide professional advice about wine.
